Riverview Bandas

Discover a one-of-a-kind space to unwind and relax

Earthy, airy and comfortable

Our riverview bandas are a mixture of traditional crafted mudhuts, built using local, sustainable materials like earth, sticks and sisal rope and a number of airy bandas made with a steel frame, and canvas covered wooden walls which can be moved seamlessly, and leave no trace.

All the rooms have a river-facing veranda, the perfect spot to bird watch in the afternoon. The rooms are all decorated with rustic furniture, using timber sourced nearby, and locally made.

Softly lit in the evenings, each banda has a solar power system providing lighting and a fan to keep you cool during the warmer nights.

The rooms all have en-suite bathrooms featuring hot water showers, european toilets. Water is heated a short distance from your banda by a traditional wood-burning stove. Towels, washcloths and soap are all provided.

No two bandas are the same - each is unique with its own character and design. All riverview bandas are located high along the river bank and have elevated views of the Rufiji river and its wildlife. Some rooms are large enough to add additional beds to create twin, triple, or rooms for four people.

A larger, two bedroom Family Banda is also available.
