Selous River Camp Location

07°45'41.3"S 38°13'43.3"E

Selous River Camp is located on the very edge of the Nyerere National Park (part of the Selous Game Reserve).

Being the closest camp to the park boundary, means you avoid long drives to the entrance of the park and you save money on concession fees which you would have to pay if you stayed within the park boundary.

How to get to Camp

There are a number of different ways to get to camp to suit a variety of different budgets and time constraints.

Fly to the Selous

Flights can be booked online, several airlines fly to the Selous, including Coastal Aviation, Auric Air, and Safari Air Link. The closest airstrip to Selous River Camp is Mtemere. We can arrange collection from the airstrip, one way airstrip transfer is $55 per vehicle, a return is $90 per vehicle.

There are daily flights from Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar. Expect to pay approximately $210 per person each way from Dar es Salaam or approximately $270 per person each way from Zanzibar.

The airstrip is inside the National Park, so entry fees do apply ($82.60 per adult, $23.60 per child), for arriving by plane. If you choose to fly in and out the park will waive the departure fees. We recommend arriving in the morning so you can make use of the valid entry permit.
